Ubiquinone is converted within our body into Ubiquinol, the potent
anti-oxidant portion of CoQ10. Ubiquinol is already in its reduced form
as a potent anti-oxidant. Ubiquinol inhibits protein and lipid
oxidation in cell membranes and helps to minimize oxidative injury to
DNA. Keep in mind there is every indication that the Ubiquinone form
has benefits other than those of Ubiquinol.
CoQ10 is the world's most comprehensive cardiovascular support supplement.
It is also the best-selling cardiovascular prescription drug in Japan. It
is widely recommended to repair heart damage and to boost the function of
the heart, as well as in preventative use to safeguard against heart
attacks and valve damage. It has also been shown to be beneficial in breast
and lung cancer, as well as helping to maintain cognitive function.*
Multiple Benefits of taking a CoQ10 Supplement, CoQ10 has shown support of:
Reduce many of the serious side effects of cholesterol and other
drugs such as Adriamycin, Beta-Blockers and some psychiatric drugs.*
Reduce the effects of aging*
Aids in the recovery from a wide range of heart problems including
pectoris, congestive heart failure, and mitral valve prolapse.*
Can reduce blood pressure and blood lipids at just 30 mg day.*
Assists chronic fatigue sufferers when administered at 90 to 300 mg per
Assists in weight loss by stimulating mitochondria and thermogenic
Treating chronic gum disease*

May normalize blood sugar levels*
Helps in maintaining a healthy brain*
Ubiquinol production ramps up from early childhood until we reach our
mid- to late 20s. By the age of 30, we start to see a noticeable
decline. Younger people are able to use CoQ10 supplements very
efficiently, however older people do much better with ubiquinol as it's
more readily absorbed.
Who should take Ubiquinol?
Due to its established role in the body’s energy production process,
Ubiquinol should increase energy, stamina and general wellness in most
people, especially in those who cannot efficiently convert CoQ10 into
Ubiquinol. It is believed that those who are 40 and older or are affected
by age-related health conditions may benefit from this pre-converted form
of CoQ10 more than those who are younger. Additionally, because Ubiquinol
levels have been shown to be reduced in older individuals and those with
cardiovascular, neurological and liver-related conditions.
How Does Ubiquinol CoQ10 Work?
Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) is a natural nutrient that's found in the
mitochondria. Called a “coenzyme” because of its unique ability to
participate in chemical reactions and remain unchanged, CoQ10 assists in
two vital cellular activities: ATP production and free radical scavenging.
To carry out these activities, mitochondrial CoQ10 continuously cycles from
Ubiquinone, its ATP production state, to Ubiquinol, its antioxidant free
radical scavenging state.*
Each step results in the building up of energy. Ubiquinone contributes to
ATP production by the shuttling or transporting of electrons. Similar to
people in a bucket brigade passing buckets of water to one another,
Ubiquinone passes electrons from one enzyme complex to another. To meet the
considerable energy needs of cellular activities, the electron transport
chain makes considerable quantities of ATP.*
The electron transport chain also creates an enormous amount of free
radicals – about 1 trillion oxygen radicals per cell every day. Most of
these oxygen radicals are contained within the membrane folds of the
mitochondria; however, about two percent are able to free themselves,
generating toxins that present a significant danger to the entire cell. The
antioxidant form of CoQ10, Ubiquinol scavenges free radicals within the
mitochondria and cell membranes.*
While free radical formation is harmful to all cells, it is especially
dangerous to cells with high biologic activity, such as heart and brain
cells. The highest concentration of CoQ10 is found in cardiovascular
(heart) and nervous system (brain) cells to protect their vital functions.
Ubiquinol is such an important antioxidant, primarily because it is present
at sites where free radicals inflict significant damage.
While more than 90 percent of the CoQ10 found in a healthy person's plasma
is in its reduced form, Ubiquinol is highly unstable and reverts back to
CoQ10 when it is exposed to air and light. This is why, until very
recently, only Ubiquinone has been available in supplement form. The
process of stabilizing Ubiquinol outside of the body took several years to
test and perfect.

Highest CoQ10 blood levels ever recorded!
Ubiquinol is so much more bio-available that in one study, it raised plasma
levels from .59 to .91 in young people, and from .82 to 1.33 in older
patients. That's a 62% lift in CoQ10 blood levels. And that's just the
Another study showed 300mg of Ubiquinol for 4 weeks caused a "markedly
high" serum level of 8.413umol/L - an 11-fold increase over baseline. 8
The highest net increase in blood levels of any research study to date
occurred using Ubiquinol at a dose of 600 milligrams daily. Blood
levels reached 10.7 umol/L - higher than in any previous study of
And get this: healthy volunteers in their 50s took conventional CoQ10
for a year. They still couldn't match the CoQ10 plasma levels achieved
by volunteers taking Ubiquinol for just 3 months.9
This shows that you can take smaller doses of Ubiquinol and achieve the
same or better results than with standard CoQ10.
This is great news for people who can't efficiently convert CoQ10 to
Ubiquinol — either due to age or illness. Now, supplementing with ubiquinol
can restore healthy levels of CoQ10 in your bloodstream and organs faster
than anything you've experienced before.*
Promotes youthful stamina and energy levels*
Improving your CoQ10 to healthy levels can give you back the youthful
energy you had years ago.*
In one animal study, researchers measured the effect Ubiquinol had on mice
and exercise. The mice taking Ubiquinol were able to run continuously 2.5
times longer than mice taking conventional CoQ10.
Other studies show that Ubiquinol reduces exercise-related fatigue 90%
better than conventional CoQ10. Supplementing with Ubiquinol is the ideal
way to restore and sustain your natural, youthful energy.
Shields your heart, brain, and organs from deadly free radicals
Ubiquinol is also one of the most powerful fat-soluble antioxidants known
to science. It has a special advantage that protects your body from damage
caused by oxidative stress and free radicals.
The advantage comes from having 2 extra electrons compared to the
conventional CoQ10 molecule. This makes a huge difference. Ubiquinol
donates these 2 extra electrons to unstable free radicals like
peroxides-and neutralizes them.
And because it's fat-soluble, Ubiquinol can penetrate deep inside your cell
membranes, into the very hub of your cells. It protects the mitochondria of
your cells and even your DNA. Its potent free radical scavenging extends to
brain tissue, where it protects neurons from the ravages of oxidative
Ubiquinol also "recharges" other antioxidants in your body, such as
vitamins A, C and E.
And in the blood, Ubiquinol protects against the oxidation of cholesterol
more powerfully than other major antioxidants. Better than lycopene,
beta-carotene, and tocopherols.10
Can boost memory and brain function
I also like Ubiquinol for neurological support. Since your brain is
extremely metabolically active, CoQ10 helps your neurons make more energy.
And when your neurons make more energy, you get better brain function. 11
Plus, since Ubiquinol is up to 8 times more bio-available, it can achieve
the same effect with much smaller doses. It can protect neurons from
oxidative damage and potentially ward off cognitive decline.
Limits the effects of aging!
Because of its energy-rich, antioxidant ability, there can hardly be a more
significant nutrient than Ubiquinol on aging and health.
In one astonishing study, researchers took mice that were bred to age
quickly. By the time middle age set in (around 9 months in mice), Ubiquinol
had slowed the aging process by 51% better than the control mice. And 40% better than conventional CoQ10!
By "old age" — 12 months — the difference was shocking. The control mice
could barely move and were unresponsive, due to advanced aging. The mice on
conventional CoQ10 were only slightly better.
But the mice taking Ubiquinol were alert, responsive and energetic. They
had no physical lesions or deformities. Their coat was the glossy type of a
healthy young mouse!
Remember, these mice were specially bred to get old fast. Yet Ubiquinol
dramatically postponed their symptoms of aging.
What is KanekaQH™ and why is it so effective?
KanekaQH™ is ubiquinol, the reduced, active antioxidant form of Coenzyme
Q10. Introduced in 2006, KanekaQH™ is the first supplemental form of
bio-identical ubiquinol ever developed and is manufactured exclusively by
Kaneka ubiquinol and Kaneka ubiquinone are produced via the same production
method: a fermentation process using a food-grade yeast. Ubiquinol is quite
unstable and easily oxidized to the ubiquinone, even by simple exposure to
the air. Kaneka is now able to obtain and keep ubiquinol stable for a long
period of time. The Kaneka ubiquinol is transported under appropriate
conditions under nitrogen gas to avoid oxidation. Also at the encapsulation
process, appropriate conditions can avoid oxidation and will guarantee high
content of reduced CoQ10 in the capsules.
Because ubiquinol is one of the strongest lipid-soluble antioxidant
available, KanekaQH™ provides defense against oxidative damage to the
body’s cells, including lipids, proteins and DNA. It also plays an
essential role in cellular ATP (energy) production. LifeSource Vitamins -
