Omega 3 Fatty Acids Impact on Diabetes and Cardiovascular Disease Risk Patients
With the largest recent summary of clinical trials performed with Omega 3 Fatty Acids in patients with Diabetes has shown that multiple benefits are attained and one being, reducing the risk of Cardiovascular Disease, including improvement of blood lipids, inflammatory markers and a more complete control of blood sugar levels.
As always, there are other meta-analysis about this subject that disagree with this largest recent summary of clinical trials. However, there is an expert commentary that is published in Cardiovascular Diabetology that suggests those meta-analysis studies have failed to find the benefit may have not used the right dosages of the Omega 3 Fatty Acids, so showing the diluted benefits as shown in this largest recent study with the higher doses.

The authors of this large summary of trials state that using less than 1,000 mg of Omega 3 were certainly inadequate to show benefit. Their dosage recommendation is 2,000 mg or higher for reducing risk factors for Diabetes and Cardiovascular Disease.
