  • Green tea extract stimulates the immune system, and also helps defend against dental plaque*
  • Green tea extract is one of nature's most powerful antioxidants. This all natural ingredient is recognized for its beneficial health properties, as well as being a natural fat inhibitor.*

Green tea has long been used by the Chinese as medicine to treat headaches, body ache, poor digestion, and improve well-being and life expectancy. Green tea extract is bioflavonoid rich, and one of its main uses is fighting free radicals in your body. Green tea extract contains a potent antioxidant, EGCG, which is over 200 times more powerful than vitamin E in neutralizing the pro-oxidants and free radicals that attack lipids in the brain. This important ingredient, Epigalloocatechin Gallate (EGCG), protects against digestive and respiratory infections, helps to block the cancer promoting actions of carcinogens, protects against high total and LDL cholesterol levels, and blocks the attachment of the bacteria associated with dental cavities to the teeth.*

Green tea extract helps with thermogenesis and aids in the metabolism of fat. Known for years as a powerful antioxidant, it may also be helpful in shedding fat. The most obvious benefit to dieters is that it works without increasing the heart rate most often found in diet aids. The increased heart rate leaves dieters jittery and eventually, most dieters stop using the supplement and gain weight back. Now through using green tea extract, dieters get the weight loss benefits without any of the jittery effects, especially in obese individuals with hypertension and other cardiovascular complications.*

Most nutritionists and physicians advise that weight loss can only be achieved through reducing food intake while increasing energy expenditure. Research shows that green tea extract seems to perform the energy expenditure required in dieters to lose weight although the mechanisms behind its action are unclear.*

Green tea extract has shown as non-toxic in both acute dosages and high long-term dosage. Additionally, it has no potential for causing mutations, birth defects, and has no adverse effect on fertility, pregnancy, or nursing mothers.*

Green Tea has long been used by the Chinese as medicine to support or treat headaches, body aches, poor digestion, and improve well-being and life expectancy. Also studies have shown positive results for weight loss.*

How much caffeine is in your Green Tea capsules, and what is the level of active components?

LifeSource's capsules contain less than 16mg of caffeine per capsule, or less than 4% of the capsule's content. Studies have identified a number of different components in Green Tea Extract that may be responsible for its benefits. The most prevalent compounds are polyphenols, of which catechins are the most important. Green Tea Extract capsules contain an average of 40% catechins, and 11% is EGCG (Epigallocatechin Gallate), thought to be the most active and effective of the catechins.

What process does LifeSource use to extract caffeine from Decaffeinated Green Tea?

We use a clean carbon dioxide extraction method that is safe and effective. Some companies utilize a chemical extraction process that uses ethylene acetate, but this process may leave a residue, and is not as safe as carbon dioxide extraction. Decaffeinated Green Tea is our only Green Tea product that is free of caffeine.
