Lifesource Vitamins MoriKol™ is a 100% piscine-derived, collagen hydrolysate with a minimum of 15% of peptides in the easy-to-absorb, tripeptide format Gly-X-Y, where X and Y most commonly include proline, hydroxyproline, and alanine. Its purity is verified by a 6% hydroxyproline standard and it is free from any carriers or excipients.

Morikol®: A low molecular weight peptide delivered very efficiently to the body when digested orally. Research has described our marine-based collagen products as innately bioavailable, because they are smaller - species-wise, than the larger, land animal-derived hydrolysates collagen. Beyond this, Morikol’s proprietary enzymatic process further digests these already small protein chains, resulting in a 15% concentration of very low molecular peptides (3-amino acids long).

Morikol® tripeptides have been shown to be digestion proof, absorbing intact through exclusive PEPT1 receptors in the intestines. Tripeptides have been found circulating in free form in the bloodstream and in tissue spaces, having shown chemotactic benefits similar to endogenous growth factors like platelet-derived, and basic fibroblast growth factors (PDGF and BFGF). Furthermore, even dipeptides that are enzymatically cleaved from tripeptides by intestinal peptidases are shown to directly increase the proliferation of fibroblasts, (i.e., collagen synthesizing cells).

Morikol® delivers over 150 mg of tripeptides per its recommended 1 gram/day dose, as a direct substrate for skin tissue healing and regeneration. Morikol® tripeptides have been shown to protect the skin from the photo-aging effects of UV-B light by reducing the production of MMPs (collagen digesting enzymes) produced from sun-exposed keratinocytes.

A clinical study of Morikol’s efficiency at stimulating collagen rebuilding and regeneration has validated its known structural and physiological benefits. When evaluated at only 1 gram/day in maturing women with diagnosable, age-related skin damage, Morikol® proved significant benefit over placebo in improving various skin change outcomes.

Q: What does bioavailability have to do with bio efficacy?

A. Because more tripeptides are predictably and directly delivered to the body (e.g. areas of collagen breakdown), the results of a 64-women DBPCR-trial has shown remarkable results at an industry-low dose of LMWCP of only 1g/day. Additionally, some of the beneficial results of these LMWCP showed significance as early as 6 weeks after intake. Most hydrolyzed collagen products show beneficial effects at higher doses, and often after 12 weeks of intake.

Q: What is the importance of a 1g/day dose?

A: Being able to supply a clinically proven dose of collagen at 1g/day is completely novel. The molecular weight of a product has a lot to do with the amount of bulk/room it occupies. Larger molecular weight collagen hydrolysate products, therefore, traditionally required high doses. As hydrolysates have gotten smaller and smaller over time, the required doses to obtain clinical value have also come down, yet none have come down as low as MoriKol®.
