Clinically Studied Benefits (with research)

Group 1 — Core Analgesic & Anti-Inflammatory Actives

White Willow Bark (salicin) — RCTs show reduced pain in chronic low-back pain; salicin metabolizes to salicylic acid with analgesic activity. (PubMed; PubMed; Review)

Osteoarthritis comfort — Standardized willow bark provided moderate analgesia and good tolerability in OA. (PubMed)

Cochrane overview — Evidence of short-term benefit vs placebo for standardized willow bark (≈120–240 mg salicin/day). (Cochrane)

Feverfew (Tanacetum parthenium) — Trials/meta-analyses report benefits for migraine frequency in select preparations; results mixed across studies. (NCCIH)

Magnesium — Supports muscle function and has research for migraine prevention in certain populations. (NIH/ODS)

Group 2 — Enzymes, Bioflavonoids & Phytoactives

Bromelain — Proteolytic enzyme with signals for reduced pain/stiffness in osteoarthritis and musculoskeletal conditions. (PubMed)

Papain — Protease with anti-inflammatory/analgesic signals in combination formulas; human data are preliminary. (PubMed review)

Quercetin — Anti-inflammatory flavonol; small RCTs suggest symptom benefits in inflammatory joint contexts. (PubMed)

Capsicum/Capsaicin — TRPV1-mediated analgesia is well established topically; limited oral data, but mechanism supports comfort. (Cochrane (topical))

Group 3 — Immune/Respiratory & Comfort Herbs

Elderberry (Sambucus nigra) — RCTs show shortened cold duration and symptom scores. (PubMed)

Nettle — Used for inflammatory balance; human evidence strongest in allergic rhinitis; joint data are preliminary. (NCCIH)

Thyme — Traditional respiratory herb; clinical data support cough/URTI symptom relief in combos. (PubMed)

Chamomile — Human studies show modest benefits for sleep/anxiety; soothing GI/comfort support. (PubMed)

Cherry (anthocyanins) — Small trials suggest reduced exercise-induced soreness and inflammatory markers. (PubMed)

Group 4 — Traditional Botanicals & Nutritive Support

Boneset (Eupatorium perfoliatum) — Traditional comfort herb; modern human data limited—use reflects historical practice. (American Botanical Council)

Jamaican Dogwood (Piscidia piscipula) — Traditional analgesic; contemporary human data limited—use conservatively. (ABC)

Cramp Bark — Traditionally used for muscle/menstrual cramping; clinical evidence preliminary. (ABC)

Alfalfa — Nutrient-dense green providing supportive phytonutrients. (ABC)

Fo-Ti (Polygonum multiflorum) — Traditional tonic; note: case reports of liver toxicity—use only as directed and avoid if you have liver disease. (NCCIH safety)

Additional Studies Showing Promising Benefits*

Willow bark safety — USP/independent reviews report favorable safety at studied salicin doses; avoid with salicylate allergy/anticoagulants. (PubMed)

Migraine & feverfew — Evidence mixed across preparations and trials; some show frequency reduction. (NCCIH)

Elderberry — Meta-analyses suggest reduced upper-respiratory symptoms; quality varies. (PubMed)

Quercetin — Human trials report improvements in inflammatory markers and symptom scales in select cohorts. (PubMed)

Bromelain combinations — Real-world/observational data show analgesic support in musculoskeletal complaints. (PubMed)

Capsaicin — Strong support for topical pain relief (neuropathic/OA); mechanism informs comfort synergy. (Cochrane)

We monitor research from the world’s leading institutions — including Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, Harvard, Johns Hopkins, Cambridge, Oregon State University’s Linus Pauling Institute, Tufts, Boston University, Cornell, Columbia, and Ohio State — to keep guidance aligned with credible science.*

My husband and I have used this product for a couple of years. He switched from aspirin to the All Natural product, and won't go back. I use it infrequently for minor aches and pains, and I am happy with it. We keep it on hand at all times.

These natural aspirin work for aches
I rarely need aspirin for headaches but rather for aches and pains after workout where I can't sleep. These aspirin work where I get a good night sleep and not awake due to leg pain. I've been using these for a few years.
